GPS Tracking Device Introduced on Ghanaian Market
A Global Positioning System (GSP) tracking
device - Tramigo T22, that helps users track
their cars and manage the fleet has been
introduced to the Ghanaian market.
Tramigo T22 is said to be the
first tracking device in the world
that has both Global Positioning
System (GPS) and Global System
for Mobile communications
(GSM) fused into one platform
that gives it a unique operational
versatility.
The Tramigo T22 is designed to report
a range of vital information,
such as location, speed and duration
of trips by any vehicle (including
boats and trucks) directly to an
authorised mobile phone. Tramigo
T22 also generates journey reports
and monitors the usage of vehicles
by advising when the ignition of a
vehicle is switched on and off.
According to Aryee Hugh, the
Chief Executive Officer of Proffworld
Links Consult Ltd, local
partners of the device, Tramigo
would operate on a local detailed
mapping, which is linked to over
100 countries worldwide. It also interfaces
with Google earth, an internet-
based mapping system.
Hugh said Tramigo's unique ability
to offer Landmark Data (TLD) for
any country in the world is now
generating broad interest throughout
the world, adding that the latest
technology, which would assist
the security agencies, corporate
bodies and individuals in protecting
their life and property, would be
officially launched on April 28,
adding that
Usage comes with no monthly
fees, computers, Internet, the user
only pays the normal short message
system (SMS) via any cellular
network in the country. Users neither
have to understand or try to
fathom complicated coordinates or
refer to traditional maps, since
the GSM-GPS tracking devices
have built-in geographical data
that help users to locate their device
by using practical and easyto-
understand landmark reference
points.
The Tramigo's devices come with
optimised pre-loaded landmark
data including information-rich
point of interest data, cities, towns,
and villages for every region with
customised data for Ghana.
“This data is geo-referenced with
advanced aerial and satellite imagery
and verified by Tramigo's
field teams using the latest GPS
technology to ensure its accuracy
and reliability,” Mr Huge explained.
“At this time when crime has become
so sophisticated and the increase
of accidents on our roads,
the introduction of the Tramigo T22
therefore into the Ghanaian market
is timely,” he added.
The Tramigo T22 is perfect for entrepreneurs
and small companies
with its easy-to-use and no monthly
fee business model. With customised
landmarks for Ghana and
over 100 countries, the technology
is said to enable busy business
owners, companies, transport
owners, taxi owners and drivers to
track, control and monitor their vehicles
and assets simply from their
GSM phone.
